I can't find out how to fix it either. The only thing I can recommend is holding down one of the volume keys when it is black...this will make the clock reappear for a little longer.

When I had E715, it was the same thing. The large clock is just like a screen saver - appears for several seconds. You can not make it stay

problems

I have seen htat and I also thought that it was a problem, however, did you guys have the problem (or I think it is a problem, upon opening up the phone, there's a delay probably a fraction of a sec before the screen actually shows up the wallpaper, and another thing about or around a 5 minute conversation on this phone, my screen totally blacks out as if there's nothing on the background, I have to press the buttons in able for the screen to shows up, is this completely normal?, instead of blacking out, shouldn't it just turn the illumination off.....?

Problem with Samsung e720?

What you should do is try going into your settings. There should be a selection in the menu where you can set how long you want the external display to appear before it goes away. I was able to do this with my BenQ phone 660C to be exact. So try setting the time limit for your OLED display and that should work. Keep in mind the reason it shuts off is to conserve battery energy. I will be purchasing that same phone soon by the way. At any rate the other thing is have you tried just hitting the other external keys on the phone to make the external display appear? Such as your volume keys or something like that.

Have a good one and take care. If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask.

Kind Regards,

Ben

Blackout?

This situation is completely normal for phones of this magnitude. The blackout function is again another tactic to conserve your batteries energy. Think about it, if a screen with 262000 colours was continuously illuminated, how long do you think your talk time would last? The phone reacts like this in favor of the user and besides it also keeps the phone cooler while talking on it for long periods at a time. The other thing is you only need light when light is necessary. Let's say you're in the dark with people around you and you are talking on your phone, do you want everyone to see where you are talking on your phone or would you like it to be a discreet thing? Think, only to be noticed when you want to be noticed...it's not cool to be a homing beacon, especially if your friends around you don't want that attention. So you should thank Samsung for thinking this way.

Anyway, enjoy your phone, I will be buying one soon enough.

Kind Regards,

Ben
