T-Mobile internet speed

T-Mobile is so likeable! The only reason I'm not signed up with them right now is because I don't know how fast their current internet speeds are nor do I know what they have planned. When I check out new phones and upcoming phones, the only data connectivity option I see is GPRS as apposed to Cingular's GRPS Edge and Verizon and Sprint's EV-DO.

Can anyone in here who knows give a comparison to T-Mobile's current speeds vs offerings from other companies? And, if it's slow, is there any good info about their plans and timing for them if they exist? Thanks a lot.

Talking about real life spees (not the technology's theoretical ones):

- GPRS is about 40-50 kbps (4-5kbytes)
- EDGE is about 100-120 kbps
- EV-DO - anywhere between 100 to 700 kbps with normal speeds of about 300-600 kbps (30-60 kbytes per second)
