Can I use Nokia 6600 in USA?

I have purchased Nokia 6600 in india and was using there without any problem. Now I amin USA and some people have said that I can't use my nokia 6600 here in USA.

I would like to know whether I can use it or not? If I can then what all has to be done to activate my mobile.
