v180: trouble!!

hi all!

i have just bought a Motorola v180 (italian vers.) , but in using some of its functions i found some things i don't understand.

One of the problems is this: i would like to put into the mobile some MP3s and MIDIs , so i bought a miniUSB cable, to make him communicate with PC. But, when i connect it to the computer , the computer doesn't reveal any new mobile connected to it, and it is like if my v180 isn't connected. Does anyone knows if i need some driver to make my v180 tank with the ps? and where can i find it?

Another small thing: i have an old 12k SIM, that kan keep only 10 SMS; i have seen that this mobile has not a space to save messages, there isn't a mode to save messages into the phone instead of into the sim?
