whats the maximum speed of the data:

and is it worth getting a hsdpa phone, if it is NOT a smartphone like the successor of the 8125 for example (i'm thinking of the new lg flip phone)

HSDPA has a theoretical very high data capacity of up to 14.4 Mbit/s for the downlink.. definately it's worth it if you're a data services user

according to cingular:

TDMA/GSM speed varies highly on phone but max recorded - 51.2k
GSM/GPRS - can vary between 100-400k - depending on how you connect to the servers
GSM/EDGE - also varies on how you connect - 300K-1.1M
UMTS/HSDPA - as much as the specific tower supports...currently the phones can not keep up with the tower speeds...towers max is 21 Mbs...but the highest phone known yet is 7.2Mbps...
