text messages to/from email for Cricket

Someone told me that you can send text messages to a Cricket phone from your email and get responses. I have a friend that has Cricket and I wonder if anyone knows how to set it up so I can email/text to his phone.

Actually, this doesn't work. Every time I try to send an email from Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail.....etc.....it always comes back like this.

I tried this with a phone number of a friend who has cricket and it worked just fine for me, to whoever did the 999 number no wonder it didn't work because it is not a cricket number.....duh, notice this message says "phonenumber"
