delayed text messages

For some time now my text messages are delayed. The person, I’m sending them to gets them somewhat like 3-4 hours after I’ve sent them. He is on Sprint and I’m wondering if the issue is with VZW or with Sprint?

When this happens it has been my experience that it is Sprint that is causing the delay. The simple way to test this is to send yourself a text message. Send a message from your phone to your own number. It it comes right back to you then Verizon is fine and its Sprints fault. If your return message takes a while your number may have a delay in the switch, call customer service if this is the case.

Exclamation it's verizon

i am with t-mobile and my bf is with verizion and every night around the same time his texts start to be delayed. he gets mine right away but i get his anywhere from 5 minutes to 4 hours later.

we did a bunch of other testing and i even bought a new phone. and we've come to the conclusion that it is something on verizion's end.

any other ideas??

SIMPLE -- you two need to swap!!

In the first case you got a girl=t-mob and boy=verizon and in the second a girl=verizon and boy=t-mob. Swap and everything will work just ducky!!

And if you are not willing to do that try it the old fashioned way -- actually TALK to each other. I know its a novel concept but you ought to try it sometime.

Do some research. People. There are plenty of articles out there that explain how SMS messages get backed up in the SMSC and delays happen on everybody's phone.

I had a long arguement with a customer today about this. She came in complaining about it and i tried to explain how things will get backed up sometimes during peak hours and she didnt understand how things get so backed up when shes only texting 1 or 2 people. apparently people have the mentality that there the only ones texting. Just on inaguration(spelling) day, just in dc alone there were over 2 million text messages sent between 10am-2pm. Maybe that will give people a perspective at what goes around these days. Its not just a few people texting.

Yeah really, it might not be either networks fault why text messages are delayed text messages are transportated through diffrent kind of sound and raido waves talk about everything that can disturb that.

Perhaps they should cut off text messaging completely so folks will PAY ATTENTION IN SCHOOL and learn spelling and grammar.

We have noticed a lot of problems with text messages sent from verizon to sprint customers. We have put in a universal trouble ticket for the issue and Sprint is slow to respond to the concern. We did some trouble shooting of the issue the other day and it will leave our switch on time, but sprints systems have a hard time processing those messages. Not to completely blame sprint but it leaves our switch within 30 seconds of the message leaving the phone. So it looks like its something on Sprints end that is causing the problem. We have contacted sprint in relation to the issue and they pretty much blow it off as if its not there problem, so dont expect any real resolution til they get there head out of there asses. I spent 2 hours on the phone with them on friday and there techs seemed pretty clueless on how to even troubleshot there end. Sprint isn't the only carrier that Verizon is having issues with but it seems to be the most common. We are also having issues with some of our local carriers here in Virgina, but they dont seem as wide spread as the issue with sprint, but that can just be because not as many people have those carriers. We dont have any problems with Tmobile or ATT, except for some random issues that last less then 24 hours.
