problems connecting Sanyo MM-8300 to Sprint Connection Manager

I have problems connecting my Sanyo MM-8300 to Sprint Connection Manager. I’ve downloaded the necessary software from Gomadic, upgraded everything, when connected to the computer it says it’s charging. What I get afterwards, however, is Connect Your Phone or Card?! Can anyone suggest what could be wrong? Thanks

I’ve read somewhere recently that three phones from Sanyo don’t support PAM (Phone As Modem) capability, because it was internally disabled. I can’t remember the three models, but I think MM-8300 was among them. But to be on the safe side, you can check if it shows in the device manager in Windows. If it does it means that it has PAM, but probably the drivers are not correctly installed.
