What (in your opinion) is the BEST camera phone on the market?
Hi
I plan to buy a new phone soon, but I really can't decide which phone to buy..there are so many where to choose from!
I love photography..so I would like a phone with a good camera with good quality photos so that I can manipulate them with Adobe on the PC. I accept ANY brand, ANY model..
I'm really confused..some have suggested Nokia N90, others sony ericsson k750i..I can't seem to make up my mind.
I'd really appreciate ANY suggestion.
Thank you in advance.

Hello. Welcome to the forums.
Dump the phone. Get a cool with nice features and no/or cheap camera - for example Motorola L7 SLVR. Buy a digital camera separately. You can get really nice Canon G3 for example (used of course) for about $250.
If you want ONLY cameraphone ... I'd sugges the K750

Nokia 6102i is my suggestion. Don't buy a cell phone for the camera, the cameras are pretty crappy even in the most high end phones, buy a phone for voice quality, and manufacturing excellence, get a Nokia...

I believe that the Samsung A707 SYNC has a 2.0 megapixel. So, I'd have to go with that one. Well, that is until the new 3.0 megapixel phones come out.
The quality of a 1.3 megapixel RAZR isn't bad. I could very well assume that adding almost a whole megapixel to that would be quite good quality. After all, you only need about 3.0 for casual photography. I photograph jewelry as a side job and we only need a MAX of about 5.0 even though new technology is can go upwards of 8-10 megapixels.

After 6.3 Mpx it is only for high resolution (over 1024X1128) or for extreme close ups...the naked eye can not tell the difference...yet.
Samsung is coming out with a 5.o mpx camera phone that will challenge the iphone...touch screen, slide out keypad...model F700.
Sony Ericsson has an 8.2 mpx camera phone but I do not remember the model number...
Either way the phone you get should not replace a good digital camera...especially an SLR camera...so just note phones are for functionality when you don't have something else designated for it...nothing can replace the versatilty of a full fledge digital camera

as in the next thread. . .
of course I would read them in reverse order!
The qualities needed to create even a mediocre digital camera just won't fit in a mass-market phone.
Think of it like this: When you go to a wedding now, it's common to have a disposable camera sitting on the table. That's a nice and cheap way to get some cool candid shots of your friends and family having a good time at your reception.
It is quite a different matter, however, to use a disposable camera for your "official wedding photographs." As much as I don't care for the usual output of that cliche'd market, you do get a clearly noticeable difference in quality.
Much of the difference is in the optics. Good optics are not cheap. (check out binocular prices, as well!) Truly, many slr cameras are a box into which you can put film and onto which you can attach lenses. The digital component adds a layer of processing to the process, but it really cannot replace the optics.
I suspect the first decent cellphone/camera combination will be an Olympus or Nikon or Fujitsu with a cheap cell phone circuit.
If you "love photography" in the sense of "loving to listen on the music played on a cellphone's external speakers" (or even the speakers found on new slim LCD computer monitors) you will be happy with a 3 megapixel cellphone camera.
If you are serious about doing something with your images on photoshop, however, get a stand-alone digital camera. The moment you load your cellphone camera image on photoshop, you'll see what I mean.
Garbage in, garbage out. . .

I'd say go for Sony Ericsson W600i
I am using it. It takes very good pictures, but the videos are not that good.

in my opinion, cell phone 's main function is for communicating not for using as a camera. but if u interest on ur idears, my brother using this phone, which he says to take photos is rather clear, try and see!

My k850i is probobly the best out at the minute, apparently the n95 isn't a 5mp camera as advertised, it's 3mp but scales up the pictures.
Plus the colour on the photos I've taken with my work phone (n95) seem like the colour balance is wrong.
K850i is probobly the best one i've used so far

If you want to go for the camera perspective then i will really suggest you Nokia n90. I am personally use Nokia n90. As the first camera phone to apply proper optics along with a mix of a quality 2-megapixel sensor, a brilliant high-resolution screen and a good selection of image management software,it's no wonder Nokia's N90 is best-in-class.
