convert to 3GP

Yeah it plays anything you want but you got to get a program to convert your video to 3GP though. Xilisoft 3GP Video Converter works.

Details -- need details. Are they MP3's or WMA's? Are you sure? Are they DRM files? Filenames must be less than 43 characters and not have any special characters. You cannot use subdirectories under MY MP3s.

Before you put songs or videos on your SD card, make sure that you have put it in your phone first so it can format the card (just stick it in and leave it for a couple seconds). After you format it, put it in your memory card reader and put your music into the "my mp3s" folder or else it will not work.
Have fun with your phone, its amazing!

From one Verizon Agent to user...

LG phones have the tendency to require playlists made and then songs from the Micro SD card added to them

You need no playlists at all to put songs on the 9800

Actually, I've got 2 video converters that would convert from just about any video format (such as *.avi, *.mov, etc...) to the appropriate video format for the 9800; in fact, the file extension that the 9800 accept can be *.3gp and/or *.3g2. One of those website I would go to (and it's completely free!) is http://www.cutedvd.com/. I've got another program called "Plato", but not sure what its website is.

Hope this helps.

Video converters:

The best is winavi

they have one that is the best out there as far as phones go. The format is 3gp so go to winavi.com and get that converter with ipod 3gp in the name, install, use a crack or buy it to remove the water mark nag and use.

Audio:

You don't need playlists or anything... Just use whatever you use to get music and find a converter for anything to wma... That is the best because you convert it to wma and shrink the size of the music file considerably. MP3 takes up a lot of space, but is cool because of the audio features (EQ settings that come with it)

If you do the wma thing, convert them and put them in the My Music folder.

Nope no sound card needed. Just stick it in your left ear and it'll project the contents on your screen through your eyes.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

You need to get a card reader if you don't have one built into your desktop. Card readers can be had are fairly cheaply (easily under $20-$25) from just about anywhere you can get computer accessories. Most attach to your desktop via USB.

You make no sense with the above post.

Any card reader that supports mini sd will work directly -- if it only supports sd then you need a mini sd to sd adapter -- put the mini in the adapter and the adapter in the sd slot and go from there.

Does that answer what you were trying to ask?
