Essentially Blackberry does email and texting very well. Browser is a bit behind as is their UI. The Bold/Tour/Storm are great communication devices for the people that dont need touchscreen and mainly text/email. If you want more internet surfing then you may want to look at the others (it works but screen sizes and browser limit it). There is the storm 2 coming but honestly it pretty much is the same but with touch and virtual kb. Most everyone says the newest OS 5.0 isn't that much different then the 4.x series which really shows BBs age.

Android is the new kid on the block, a fledgling iphone if you will. Its not there yet but there have been some decent upgrades since the G1. HTC Sense is pretty nice. Integration of apps/contacts/GPS is more on the iphone level (seemless) then blackberry. Browser works better, 2.0 is reported to have full flash 10 support yeah!!! It had been build more around touch then BBs so it lends itself there a bit better.

Just like everything in life its personal choice. Many people love android, your friend doesn't. BB maybe for you if you want a simple device for test/email/calls. You may want something more...

i dont know who you're talking to but the difference between 4.7 and 5 for the storm was huge. there were major improvements. i would say to you wait till the holidays, november/december, to make a final decision.

Blackberry is currently working on flash support as well... I guess my take is Android is that itworks well but it mainly comes down to if your a developer then Android is for you, but if your just a data user then BB will be better since it offers much more for apps and whatnot.
If you try out the Storm 2 you will be in love, it works very very well (especially the typing improvements, plus the browser and phone in general is so much faster and better than storm 1).

How could you possibly say that Blackberry has more apps than Android?!?!

BB App World = 2,000 + apps

Android Market = 10,000 + apps

'nuff said

BB OS has limitations for what apps and games it can make.

Android has much fewer.

Other than that, yeah. Unless you are a software engineer you won't notice any other differences

Android is powered by google...integrates with your G-mail account. You can also have numerous windows open at the same time and minimize them or switch back and forth. It is more similar to the web browsing you would experience on your PC. There are a TON of apps you can download through Google's marketplace. They are also a lot more customizable than the blackberries. The Motorola Droid has 3 home screens you can customize and fill up with widgets, applications, whatever you want. The HTD Droid Eris has 7 home screens you can customize. They are also powered with Google Maps. The Motorola Droid has an awesome GPS system that is INCLUDED in your $29.99 data package. It uses google maps and gives you spoken turn by turn directions. You can view 3D images of your location. Pretty sweet.
