I'm currently on a family plan with two lines (for me and my wife). But i wish to split it into two individual plans. Is that possible ?

Yes you can, but there is a downside. You can't get a discount on a phone when you do that.
I'm not sure about this, but i guess this would renew the contracts.

What is the point of doing this ? are you divorcing or something ? It is doable like he said. Just call support and they will help :D

It is possibe, you would just do an assumption of liability. Basically it would just take one of the lines on the account and place it on a new account of its own. This does not extend the contract at all and will not affect your upgrade dates.

You can split into two individual plans on your account. No downside at all. Now if she wants the account under her name, it will require an assumption of liability. Again, no downside. She would assume the remainder of your contract or one year whichever is shorter.

Splitting the line is free to do and it will NOT affect your current contracts. It also wont effect your upgrade date. Also if you have a discount on the line through your business both lines would be able to benefit from your monthly discount.

nothing particular. My wife wanted to switch to individual line for some reason (i didn't listen much and just said OK :) ) So if she switched to individual there is no need for me to stay on family plan.

If there isn't a specific reason then you guys should do it. Example:If you guys are on a 2100 min plan its 109.99 for the both lines. If you both split to a 900 min plan which is 59.99 a line you guys would be paying as a total, 119.98 and have 300 mins less.

sounds like she's planning something to be honest, but yes, very easy to do

DON'T do the Assumption of Liability!! That's the only time when you will change your upgrade dates, just change your lines to two single line plans!!! Alot easier without the headache!! You lose NE2 on the main line, unless you select a plan that gives it to you!!

definitely dont do an AOL, those extend your contract, but doing 2 single lines will cost you at least ten dollars more

Yes an AOL does extend the contract but dependent on the amount of time left in the term, it's only extended out so much.
It also doesn't affect your upgrade date so if you plan on staying with VZW, why not?

The person that is assuming service will only need to agree to a 1 year contract or whatever is remaining if less than 1 year. The upgrade eligibility will remain the original date, which at times means you can cancel service before you are eligible for a new phone! On the sales side of it, you will not be paid commision until they have completed 10 months of service, regardless of upgrade eligibility date.
There is a little loophole here to, if your only looking for a 1 year contract but, 2 year pricing, sign up with a 2 year and then have a AOL completed, 1 year contract, done!
