Finally we have something nice ;). The ATT Vu looked quite juicy, and i hoped we would be getting something like it and here it is.
BTW i just saw it will be Bluetooth 2.1. What is different than 2.0 ? ? ? ?

From the info on wiki the main difference is that 2.1 will be having NFC protocol for pairing.
Meaning the pairing will be as simple as tapping the two devices together :D.

Is it a slider, i mean does it have any keyboard is it all touch ? I hope its not the latter because typing on the screen is just ridiculously slow for me.

It doubt it. There aren't many with touch and keyboard. Beside KF700 i can't remember any other in fact. If it has keyboard will make it more interesting, besides the photo doesn't say anything about specs and features.

No keyboard, just onscreen keys with haptic feedback. This is supposed to hit the online store July 4th, other than that, no details.

I just hope Verizon's craptastic interface isn't put on this thing.

It won't surprise me if they do it :(. Is the release date confirmed ? Becouse 4th of July sound too optimistic for a phone without much info and specs.

All touch, no slider or anything. Honestly I don't know how I feel about it. I will be excited when I get to see one it when we get the demo, however all touchscreen (in my opinion) isn't that great for those who like to text.

Got to play with it at work today. Its sweet accelerometer, full qwerty touch keypad as well as t9 if you'd like, movable homepage icons 3.2 mega pixel camera 3.5mm headphone jack. VERY VERY responsive touch pad (makes voyager/glyde look like a pos) a few LG exclusive tweaks and or perks =p 3g of course full html browser WITH plugins. OH and it looks sweet and is also very light weight. Just to give you guys an idea. Take it for what it is im a tech at a core store and not much has lately impressed and ill have this the day its out.

I work at one of the call centers and got my hands on the dare yesterday. We have 1 model early so that some of our Tech Support trainers can familiarize themselves with the phone before we start to train our employees on it. It has the biggest touch-screen of any VZW phone so far (just a little bigger than the Voyager's outside screen). I have not liked any touch-only phones up to this point, other than the iPhone. Every other touch screen phone lags and is not very intuitive. (I would never by the iPhone, even 3g, on AT&T's inferior network though). I like to text a lot so I would never have bought a phone without a hard QWERTY keyboard, until the dare. The on screen keyboard (the QWERTY one not the T9 one) is great. I text very fast and it made no mistakes and felt comfortable. The camera is awesome and the HTML browser is just like the one on the Voyager and the Glyde (which is MUCH faster than AT&T's "3G" network and available in WAAAAY more places). I know that I am going to get it right when it comes out, and previous to playing with it I thought that I would never get a phone that only has a touch screen.

OMFG that is some big ass on screen QWERTY :). The interface is nice it is somewhat like a mixture of LG KF700 and Samsung F480. All in all i like it, will it come out as GSM Variant, so not only Verizon users could enjoy it :D.

This phone is really nice. Handwriting recognition looks good, 3.2 mp camera!!, accelerometer....All looks good.

One question to those who have it or have info on it, is there gonna be 3rd party apps for it (such as ones to take advantage of the accelerometer)?
I doubt it, but that would really important if they even wanted to compete with the iPhone.

i like the phone. Actually this is the first LG i would love to own. Overall it has good features and reasonable price. The only con i can think about it is that there isn't a GSM version :(.

I doubt there will be a GSM version since in our launch package for the Dare there is a direct comparison to the iPhone so as far as AT&T there won't be; T-mobile who knows. As I mentioned in the thread under LG phones, I've played with our demo in the store and am so far loving it. The touch QWERTY keypad takes some getting used to and probably would be difficult to use while driving (shouldn't be anyway but I am guilty of it). The big selling point for me is the support of Rhapsody subscription music since I already have a subscription for my Sansa mp3 player. It does sometimes feel like the touchpad isn't as responsive as I would like but for the most part it seems acceptable. Size, weight, general capabilities (Pix/Flix MMS, rhapsody/mp3, 3.2MP camera) and being on a faster network blow the iPhone away in my opinion. Definitely considering changing to it from my Curve but will need to think about it.
