This is really kind of an up in the air question but I am very interested in the touch from verizon. Due to the lack of the soft touch coating on the body I wonder if you can go to your local auto bodyshop and have it painted a different color? I wouldn't think it would be too terribly expensive. Mainly paying for set up costs for the sprayers if they will even do it. Overall I think it would be pretty cool and if someone has the balls to do it by all means let me know how it goes. Also, there may be an actual company out there that does this for cell phones I just don't know about it.

OMG don't do it it's not worth it. Go to ebay or sth and order replacement covers or skins of some sort.

That was my other question. Is there a way to order a front and back plate replacement in sprints color from htc? I have seen replacement battery covers but not a front cover. I dont want a two toned phone and I am sure its possible but don't know where to look.

The reason I am interested is because I don't want the added thickness of a case. My phones are constantly in my pants pocket and a bulky phone is very annoying.

What where they thinking?!!! That soft paint that Sprint has an amazing feeling. Why doesn't VZ do some kind of customer opintion trial before they release phones?! I'm sure that 99% of people would prefer that soft paint over the fake knock-off-looking cover they have.

If anyone knows about finding other covers for the Touch, please post!

It also would've been great if they included wi-fi, gps, and tv (like Sprint) - but that's asking too much. I love you VZ, but sometimes the choices you go with are questionable.

Why would you want to do something like this ? If you really want to switch you ROM go to xda-developers and get one, the choice of roms is really good.
