I'm eligible to get a new phone with the NE2 program, but my contract expires in August. I know if I get a new phone, my contract extends for another 2 years. My question is from what date does it extend if I get a new phone today? Will my new 2 year contract start today, or in August?

yeah its the day that your phone is activated. and they changed there ne2 so now you can get it four months before your contract ends over 2 months

WAit seriously????? you can upgrade before your 2 years is up??? i didn't know that! but one that sucks is i'm on a family plan and only my mom gets the $50 discount so i have to pay full price but i'm the one who wants the expensive phone...she doesn't care so can she give me her upgrade discount????

If she's eligible to upgrade she can get the phone you want and then once activated you can switch the devices between your numbers. Keep in mind if she upgrades its HER contract that extends 2 years.

As the secondary line you just won't receive that $50 NE2 credit, you still will receive 2-year pricing on the phone rather than full retail. But yes, if your mom wanted to she could do an alternate upgrade by using her upgrade but activating the phone on your number

You could do an alternate upgrade, tell her to check with a customer service rep at your local store ad see if she qualifies for any employee discounts, because in that case, you would be eligible for special equipment discounts through the business, which is sometimes cheaper than the 2 year pricing. So that way you wouldn't have to rob her upgrade!!
