E330 cannot upload ringtones

Hi!

I am new to this forum, so greetings to everyone!

I bought Samsung E330 to my girlfriend with serial cable. Cable seems to work ok, I can upload/download images, but ringtones cannot be uploaded (button is greyed out :confused: )!! I tried every version of easystudio and PC-Studio that I found, but no success. Also I didn't figure out how JAVA application can be uploaded to phone.

Is this in purpose, that one cannot upload ringtones/JAVA to this phone or bug in the program ? Is there any other program to try ?

Does E330 support any other ringtones than MMF ?

If you use the Samsung MA-8230P serial Data Cable, this is the limitation of the Easy Studio software that comes with it: you can transfer MP3 files from phone to PC but not from PC to phone! Brilliant thinking from Samsung, I suppose. You may try the Mobile Action USB data cable kit. I don't have the E330 so can't say for sure that the MA kit will work with it.

I can't get get my phone 'online' usuing PC Studio v1.0 so you can't imagine how desperate I am.

I am using a serial cable model no PCB133LBC. Is this the same one you are using to get urs to work. I really want to upload some preccccious photos to my comp.
