I have a Nextel phone (Motorola i90c) that I used with Nextel service for a couple of years. I would now like to use that phone with Boost Mobile prepaid and I am told I need to obtain a sim card. I have looked around on Ebay and they have quite a few but I am not sure what kind to get. One is 64k another is 32k. I don't want to purchase something I can't use. One of the local dealers wants to charge something like $90 for a "kit". Does anyone know if all the sim cards work in the Nextel i90c or if I must purchase a special card. I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me. I just going round and round with this. Thanks in advance.

As far as I know cards from:
i30sx, i35s, i50sx, i55sr, i58s, i60c, i80s, i85s, i88s, i90c, i95cl series are compatible.
But I am deffinately NOT sure about that. You should check i90c' manual ...

i recently purchased an i860. i put my old 32k sim card in it from my i90c. it works perfectly. you can put a 32k card from an older phone in a newer model but you cannot put the newer 64 k cards in the older phones. hope that helps.

i also have a nextel i90c that would not let me use a BOOST 64k sim card. however, i purchased a 32k boost sim off ebay which looks brand new (no signs of wear on the metal parts). i called boost and had my account transfered to the 32k sim. however, when i powered the phone on, it STILL would not let me save new contacts to the phonebook! i can make calls and everything but i cannot store numbers. i even tried using a USB cable and iden phonebook manager! it wouldnt work either. i called boost again and they said that i would have to buy a new SIM. does anybody know anything else i could do? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Who are all these technotards that spend all their time posting absolute bull in regard to the i580 and the unlocking ........ maybe one day they will understand something ......
there is a saying that basically states there is one thing that can leave a man in ignorance and is a bar to all arguments and it is contempt prior to investigation. I SPENT HOURS BEING LED BY THEIR "TOO MUCH TIME ON THEIR HANDS" MENTALITY....... for GODS SAKE KNOW WHAT U R SAYING!!!!! DISCOVER INTERNET PORN OR SOMETHING TO OCCUPY YOUR HANDS RATHER THAN TYPING ALL THE MISNOMERS ....... I got a card..... activated it and I was waiting for the let down...... none yet..... all works great!!!!

I do know that it does work on my blackberry curve i just got it from nextel/sprint and my friend had a boost and she bought it used for 10 dollars and the sims card was inside so we tried it in my blackberry and it worked so before you buy a 90 dollar kit you should invest in a boost phone at walmart in michigan it is more. in ohio it is 39.97 and you can activate it i think at walmart if not there definantly at radio shack. 50 dollars a month will get you unlimited everything text, walkie talkie, long distance and the web u can't beat that. good luck. bro boost mobile sim cardss work in the i90 but you can not store numbers at all
i have a nextel/sprint blackberry phone my friend had a boost phone that she bought and had activated so she has all the works for 50 dollars a month web, walkie talkie, text, and long distance calling. we wanted to see if it would fit in my blackberry curve and her other nextel phone. we put the sims card from the boost in and they both worked. The other nextel phone she had was a hevy duty phones that construction workers have but instead of yellow it is all black and a flip phone. you would be better of getting your boost phone at walmart in ohio ( michigan is more 49 or 50 something dollars) and ohio's is 39.97. Then i am not sure if you can activate it at walmart but you can activate it online or at radio shack. then take your phone you want to put it in and see if it works. Tonya
