LG VX9800 "the V" problems

I've been having problems lately with my V.. I've had it for a little less than a year. For the past couple days I've noticed that when I shut the phone the front screen will turn white, all I've had to do was just open and reshut it, and it was fine. But tonight it went white for about 10 minutes, the opening and reshutting trick didn't work. I finally took the battery out for a few minutes and it worked after that.

I've also noticed that when I open it up the inside screen will be scrambled for a split second, which worries me.

Has anyone else with a V had any similar problems? Is it worth going to a Verizon store to have it checked out?

Yeah, I"ve had the same problem however both of my screens are white. The only trick I have is taking the battery out, blowing some compressed air on the surface contacts of the battery and the contacts on the phone, pop the battery back in and turn it on.
