Cingular 2125 PIN/security unlock code

A buddy at work had his phone locked by someone else and now he cannot use the phone except to answer calls. Cingular Tech Support could not get it unlocked. Any ideas on how to get the phone past the unlock screen?

This is not the code to use the phone on another network, but rather it is the code to bypass the security PIN that locks the phone so that it is usless if stolen.
