First, i have a usb cable for my phone, but i cant get my computer or bitpim to recognize it.

Hmm, very strange! I am sure that BitPim works with your phone and you must be able to transfer files.
/brew/16542/lk/mr/ is where your ringtones are stored.
Are you sure that you have the latest version of BitPim?
For the gif files I think you must be able to use them.

bitpim wont recognize my phone, so im thinking i might need to get a new usb cable
as for gif files, ive tried emailing them, and putting them on using my sd card and it doesnt work
