samsung X820 animated wallpaper settings

what is the best file format for an animated wallpaper on the X820? i tried an animated GIF and the frame rate is slow, the picture is jerky, sluggish.

how bout 3GP? can i do a 220x176 3GP wallpaper? what are the limitations?
