a900 T9 problem

hi,

I'm having a problem with my t9 imput. I don't get a choice of words other than what the phone thinks the word is (ie. a list doesnt come up with possible word choices). For example, if I press 228 for "cat", it automatically imputs "act" and I have no other options. Does anyone know how I fix this??
