i850 adding ringtones and wallpaper

Hi, im a bit new to this. I have a couple pictures that were txt msg'd to me and a couple midi files which are ringtones a friend emailed me. I have them saved in the media section of my phone. I can play them and view the pics but there is not option to set as wallpaper or set as ringtone for them. What do i need to do? i can see all the other wallpapers and ringtones in this media section as well.

this is how I use the pix as a wallpaper..

-I go to Main Menu (small button next to the left arrow)
-go to Media Center
-I highlight the picture that I want..but not open it.
-push the little button again and choose Set as Wallpaper

the only time that it will not let you set it as wallpaper is if the picture is forwarded using yahoo..msn..etc services.
