text messsages in a digital roam

There’s something which confuses me a lot – I can’t send text messages while I’m in a digital roam. It was OK when I had Alltel and afterwards - VZW. Is it something to do with the Sprint’s messaging service or is it the handset? Can you help?

I think that it’s rather the handset than the network. On my LG 350 I can receive, but can’t send a message while on a digital roam. With my old LG 5225, however, I could both send and receive text messages and I used it at the same place, meaning that I was roaming the same towers.

I agree. I have the A920 now and have no problem sending and recieving texts when i'm in digital roam. a possible software upgrade could fix the problem though.
