need some help with LG AX4750

I got my new LG ax4750 from Alltel several days ago, but I noticed something rather strange. When I close the lid to end the call, it doesn’t actually end until the person I was talking to hangs up. Shouldn’t the phone automatically end the call when closed? I’m wondering if there’s something wrong with the phone or with the settings?

It could happen if you are in a speakerphone mode. Then you can end the call by pressing the button on the RIGHT side of the phone when closed and it will end the call. But if you are in a regular mode when this happens, then it might be something else.
