I use Nextel and verizon in the metro area. I wouldnt say either is bad but it always seems when u need a signal the most you loose it no matter hwo the carrier is. Also depends on where you are in this area. Verizon will do very well but has always cost more vs. any other carrier. If you spend the most time in one area, try asking the people you may work around. Also depends on the equipment too.

thank you. so CDMA is better then most GSM? And yes Sprint is cheaper, so I guess it's better taking sprint pcs than verizon!

Well it's all a matter of research too. I remember reading about the different frequencies the different carriers use and their ability to go through buildings and such better. I think that was the verizon equipment.

I have both T-mobile and Sprint
I travel alot from Quenns to brooklyn all day (NY)
For me , there are dead-spots on the BQE & Belt highways with T-mobile.
Recently had sprint for 3weeks, and so far NO dead spots!
Sprint has faster cheaper data, which I used for the PPC6700.

There is no contest for anyone in NYC, because as of this time , Sprint is cheaper , faster, ans has newest rom upgrade for the PPC6700, released about 2weeks ago....
This makes it better than the Verizon model, wich does not have the upgrade, and costs more for data...

Overall, the sprint unit is a better machine than the T-mo MDA(wizard/k-jam) model...It looks more frofessional, has better look/feelin keyboad, has all buttons within thumb reach, and overclocks higher...

I am pointing out the facts rather harshly, but it's good to have that once in a while...

No flame intended really, so sorry before time.
I was initially intending to get the cute-er T-mo MDA, but once I played with the Sprint6700, there was no giong back...
