Dear all,
I have resisted having a portable music device as I havn't had a need for one really.
This situation can no longer continue as I am tired of changing CD's over in the car, I can only carry a couple of dozen in a CD wallet and they get boring - I need to get my 100+ CD's into my car.
I don't want a separate device; I would rather have a phone which 'does everything' (given the amounts these things now cost this shouldn't be a big ask ;)) Anyway, after converting to MP3's in decent quality I have just over 16GB of music.
I thought it would merely be a case of locating a phone with an external memory slot and obtaining the appropriate 32GB card, then of course rigging it in the car (FM tuner or 3.5mm, not important at this stage though).
I am hugely disappointed that phones specifically marketed as 'music phones' can generally only accept 2/4/8/16GB cards. Is there any technical reason for this or is it, as I suspect, an attempt to shape their products to the market i.e. "If you want 32GB of tunes you have to £pay"
I need a phone that is:
- Available handset only for a reasonable amount
- Not a brick
- Can accept large (32GB memory cards)
- Has a 3.5mm out
I will stress again that I don't want to buy another piece of tat that will clutter my life up; I would prefer my phone to be able to take on these duties!
Any ideas definitely welcome.
