I've just received my new phone and have started taking photos with it. However, I seem to have a problem.

When I go in to the gallery, select a picture and click on the 'Edit' button the screen displays the message 'Cannot open file'. Therefore, it won't allow me to edit any of the photos I've taken (or any other pictures stored on the phone either).

The pictures are stored on both the phone memory and the external MicroSD card. The problem exists when trying to edit the pictures off both sources, so it's isn't a problem with the memory card I have.

The pictures are definately stored correctly as they can be viewed in the gallery and used for wallpaper etc. with no other problems.

The phone is using software version GC900AT_V10i, which was upgraded recently using the official LG upgrade software tool.

Could anybody help me to find out what the problem seems to be with the editing. Anyone else had this too?

Thanks!

I have the same problem with the Viewty Smart, really annoying. If you find a resolution let me know.

I'm also having problems with the Wi-Fi functionality. It only links to a network if you're within a couple of feet of the router and then drops the connection after a couple of minutes, again, a real pisser.

The latest firmware through the LG updating program still hasn't yet fixed the photo editing problem etc. However, I have now found a solution.

Check out the following link - http://www.mylgcellphone.com/index.php/topic,256.0.html

It's a step by step guide to flashing the firmware to a Hong Kong version, which sets the phone to being unbranded. It's entirely up to you if you want to try it (at your own risk), but it worked perfectly for me. I now have fully working photo editing, playlists etc. which got broken with the normal UK LG updates (proves it was all firmware related). I've also got Google maps now pre-installed as Orange removed it from thier firmware to replace it with Orange maps, which I didn't use anyway.

I'm now enjoying the phone much more as it was meant to work
