Does Cingular blacklist and greylist. I've been given mixed answers. If so what exactly happens to both the phone and sim card can the phone still be used with a valis sim card . What happens when you use a valid sim card and greylisted phone? What happens when you use a valid sim card and a black listed phone?

cingular will disable that sim card... so your account wont be billed... the phone can still be used with a different sim...
older technology phones (TDMA) did not have a sim... cingular would put the ESN of the phone on the lost / stolen list.... only the original owner could have it removed from said list
at present (afaik) only one country blacklists GSM devices... the UK...theier is 2 tiered where the SIM (ICCID) number and the device serial number (IMEI) are both put on a deny service file
