I am an alltel cutomer and my contract is eligable for upgrading. I want to wait to upgrade though, until Alltel gets a phone that I like. I heard that some people purchase phones from other companies and activate them with their carrier. Would it be possible to purchase a phone from another carrier and use it with Alltel? and would I have to pay full-price since i'm only purchasing a phone from them, not signing a contract? I'm confused about how this works.
