can anyone advise if the htc touch pro for alltel is usable out of box with verizon network?

Probably not, since they are different ROMs, but since Alltel is Verizon's little bro now, they might be able to do something for you.

If not, you can get it to work with Verizon by youself. Search online.

out of the box....thats a big fat NO!

but if you can find a Verzion ROM, you could flash it to that. However, then you need Vzw to approve the ESN of that phone and allow it on the network. not very likely with VZW
