Notice to ALL LG Voyager Owners:
I've owned 4-5 black-edition voyagers and now I'm on my 6th titanium-edition, some refurbs, some new (at no charge). ALL of these phones have had a keyboard hum. Every voyager I've come into contact with also has had this issue (some louder than others).
"Verizon will send a free replacement if your voyager is doing the same thing."
Neither LG or Verizon will admit there's a problem. Or probably because the cost of a recall is too huge to accept for either party and that there is not enough people calling and complaining about it. So if you want a new voyager at no charge, simply call verizon and tell them about the keyboard humming (be honest about it). I've been dealing with this since the voyager first came out for verizon. Here's the criteria to see if anyone out there who owns a voyager has the same issue.
First of all, make sure your internal backlight and keypad backlight is selected to always on. When you first open the phone, place your ear on the "ok and arrow" key. Make sure you are in a quiet area. Some people don't hear it, but I've found that it's partly due to the ambient noise around them. I've owned a few voyagers where the noise was audible from 3 feet away. The noise is hardware related and not software, so Verizon's policy is to send a free replacement (within warranty period).
If you keep getting refurbished phones that have the same problem, keep calling them back until you get a factory new replacement. Some people might receive a voyager without the above issue (lucky you).
I want verizon to see that there is in fact an issue with the phone that needs to be addressed. I suggest calling your local verizon rep and let them know that you want to get a replacement sent to you asap.
