I really need a new cell phone, and i'm stuck between these two phones. The Sway is cheeper and has an incredible body, with a nice camera, but no qwerty.
The Voyager is sleek but not compact at all, i had a silver EnV before, and its the relatively same footprint. I'm in love with the qwerty keyboard that it touts. Another quip I have about the sway is that it took my EnV's pictures and put them sideways. :(
Another thing is I won't use many of the Voyager's features, such as internet, mobile tv, email or anything else. My phone is only used for calling, texting, and the occasional pictures with friends.
(What does the 3G factor do to me? If I get the Sway, i lose 3G, but does that affect my texting or calls?)

VERY different phones.
to address your main concerns about the 3G factor and texting/calling, You won't see much difference. Txts will take a tad longer (it is data btw) but nothing to return the phone over. As for the Keyboard, that's where you've hit the nail on the head. If you're not using all the features that the Voyager is capable of, then perhaps going with something as sleek as the Sway is might be your best bet. For a happy medium I would highly recommend the EnV2. It's got the smaller form factor and foot print you mentioned that you liked about the original EnV but this time, even smaller and thinner. Which definately comes in handy. Of course the full QWERTY definately comes in handy since you're already used to it.
If losing the QWERTY is a something you're willing to take for the thinnest phone Big Red has to offer than the Sway is the phone for you. If you still gotta have that keyboard, I think the EnV2 would suit you best.

eh, my sister has the env2 and i'm not really interested in it.
the voyager has the keyboard, which i love, but it also has that damned touchscreen and i don't know how well off it is.
(the black voyager's screen sucked as i recalled).
but the sway is sooo cool looking too.
i hate being torn. =...(

gag me if i ever try that phone again.
i'm leaning a little more towards the env2 though.
the voyager is nice, but i hated how many bugs there were on the black version and i'm hoping that was all solved in the firmware update. the sway apparently is really slow to text on, so i've become hesitant on that.
so it looks like env2, or voyager.
(maybe even razr2?)

I've never been pro Moto.
I've seen a lot less problems with the new voyager, but if you don't want a touch screen, I'd get the enV2.
The biggest factor to consider is do you prefer predictive text versus full QWERTY?
I actually used the predictive text on the outside of my enV more than the qwerty, unless I need to type a number or a weird word.
So I personally don't like that the outside doesn't have a multidirection pad, so if I messed up texting I had to erase back to that mispelled word.
I do however think the phone is great aside from that one thing.

Well i am just starting on using "word"
i never really had to use it since i had my qwerty on me.
i usually would type on the inside, and the thing that bugs me about the voyager is that it is so hard to use for texting on the front.
however, the env2 is not, but also has its severely limited screen.

What are some good, possibly non-smartphones that are decent, coming out?
i heard of the vx9600, and the modules look pretty snazzy. i'm already adjusted to the dare's screen, since my mom has it.
i like qwerty keyboards, but i hate the touchscreen on the voyager!!!

Well i have had the Black Voyager since release and never once had an issue with the touchscreen. You know if you guys look in the docs for the Dare and Voyager from LG they use the same touch panel? My Voyager has the V11 Firmware, and works as fast as the Dare. The Voyager is an awesome phone, that's why us as Verizon continue to sell more Voyager's then Dare's. Best bet is to go into a corporate store and try out the phones and see for yourself. As for the Sway vs Voyager.. Different phones, but Voyager by a long shot.

Hi...I just wanted to mention that both of my daughters have the Voyager and have had problems with them. My oldest daughter has the original version and my youngest daughter has the newer titanium colored one. They both have the same issue. They turn off on their own. It could be in the middle of a conversation, or while the phone is just sitting there. I am bothered about this issue because my girls have the phones so I can reach them and they always have a way to reach me. I have used them both myself and it has happened while I was using them as well. Also, the Sway is very cute, smaller, lighter and, as you mentioned, has a nice camera. Good luck in whatever you decide.

Hi...you can give up on hoping that the newer Voyager is any better than the first one. My oldest daughter has the older one and I recently purchased the new one for my younger daughter...I thought it might have improved as well. Both girls love the phones...I think they like the way they look. Both phones shut off all the time and the screen goes blank when they are in the middle of texting. It might just be my luck though. I will say that, until I signed up for Verizon, I have never had an issue with a cell phone. Way back, I had T-mobile and a few of their phones were too quiet and I had a difficult time hearing people, however their customer service was awesome and switched the phones without a second thought. Too bad I am unable to get good reception with them. Also, besides a couple of new smartphones they have coming out, I didn't sign up with them because when I signed my Verizon contract, T-mobile didn't have a lot to offer with their smartphones. Now, they are getting some pretty nice ones.
