When Verizon takes over, will they drop Alltel Employees?

Depends on where you work. Retail will be hit the hardest I am sure. I think Little Rock and the corporate side will fair OK.

You may not be familiar with telecom takeovers, or what happened to the former GTE, Bell Atlantic, AirTouch, PrimeCo stuff...

ALLTEL corporate will at best remain a regional type HQ. Retail in acquired areas that don't overlap won't have any issues. Ones that do have overlap will likely get reviewed. VZ Corporate know one thing: how to make money.

Business sales will see some merging where overlapped.
