omnia will not come to any us carrier. If it would come over verizon and sprit would be the last to get it. It would go to At&t first. then t-mobile. the phone is a GSM not cdma.

but i dont see any of that happening.

There are two different phones rumored to be the omnia coming to the US
1. i-907 ATT (actually is the Blackjack III)
2. i-910 VZW (this seems to be omnia to be released in US)

I do not believe that the name will make it to the US so keep your eyes open.

Probably becuase they're focusing on the storm and possibly some other un-announced phones

There was an email from Verizon stating that the Omnia and the Saga rebates are available which means they should be out pretty soon

I am going to wait to see this phone, but if verizon cripples this phone, I am going to AT&T. This may be my/verizon's last chance.

I wonder if they will release this before, during or after the storm?

There is an internal rebate of $50 on the verizon sales systems currently. It expires on the 15th of this month. They don't know when it's coming out, but they showed me the rebate in the store.

Anybody who wants to know what the phone will be like, I heard from Howard Forums that it will keep the 5mp camera and led flash, there will be touch wiz UI, and all the other features form the GSM omnia except the front facing camera. But the down side is that you may have to get a 30 dollar, or up data plan.

Was just at the Verizon Mall Kiosk today... sales guy said will be out soon... quoted me 249.99 on 2 year after 70 mail in rebate.

Took my number and said will call me when they get some in.

Specs look worth waiting for even if another 1-2 months

Samsung already has a website up for the phone in Verizon branding so the phone must be coming soon.

ok so if i get the omnia would i have to pay for an internet/email plan like with the blackberry phones or other smartphones? if i could avoid that cost then this would be the phone for me.

You're going to get it if you want the Omnia. All new PDAs now require data services with them

The data package would be at least $29.99/month but is well worth it since you would be free to use your PDA for the purpose it was made for....and MORE!!!! You sell yourself short but just clinging to WiFi. It's a waste of a device without it

The Samsung Omnia is already available via www.verizonwireless.com. It will launch in retail locations on 12/8 and it is $199.99 after a $70 mail-in rebate.
