Blackberry Data Plans

Ok well its just about that time to get a new phone and I really like the setup of the Blackberry's/Smartphone's. I would just use the phone for texting and calling and was wondering if it is possible to not pay for any data plans and just use the unlimited texting and however many minutes on my family plan. Thanks

You can not have a blackberry without a data plan. They way a blackberry works is that it accesses the internet every couple of seconds... if Verizon didn't put a plan on the phone you would be charged for every time the phone went online. Plus by not having internet on the phone it's like putting rusty rims on a corvette...

There are three data plans out there right now for you. One for $24.99, one for $29.99 and one for $44.95 Most people, including myself, get the one for $29.99 because it's unlimited internet for email and web for the blackberry.

You also have the option of purchasing a PDA or Smartphone (Palm or Windows based) without the data plan being required. Although Verizon Wireless will recommend the data plan with any advanced device, it is only required with the Blackberrys. Some people simply want these types of phones for their organizational capabilities and do not need any syncing options.
