As i was texting my aunt to make arrangements to buy her krzr for my husband because his razr is a piece of crap....(but 25 for a replacement krzr isnt bad..) my VENUS which i've had 2 whole months took a total crap on me! The keys just punch themselves...thats if they work at all..... the fake chrome is chipping off...its INCREDIBLY slow when texting...it does nothing more than the much cheaper (and faster responding) chocolat. all of those things i dealt with until the key pad stopped working. now i must pay 50 dollars in order to get a new one?? im a sucker for believing everything the salesman said....
could someone advise me of what phone i SHOULD get? im sick of paying for features i dont use....
im thinking of the dare but im not sure on the whole touchscreen which is supposed to last 2 years???
i want:
fast FAST texting
the basic contacts and calling and all that jazz
online access...
i like sliders a lot..not big on flips
i want a nice camera...
i dont need the vcast music feature or anything like that.

First things first:

The Krazr is the Razr in a new package. In short, its horrible. The w385 is the way to go if you like the Krazr body but youre not into the music functionality.

Now:

Why, oh why, if you dont want to pay for features youre not going to use are you looking at the Dare, the most feature-crammed phone this side of a smartphone? If you liked your chocolate (either 8500 or 8550, you didnt say) then why dont you try the new Chocolate 3? its not a slider, but is has the same features you had before. Which leads me to my next point-the whole Chocolate series was designed around Vcast and music features. My suggestion for this replacement would be something along the lines of a w755 by Motorola or a vx8350 if you want to stick with the LG family.

Just my two cents as a rep seeing too many Razrs and Krazrs coming through the doors for me to fix.

First I'm curious why you had to pay $50 to replace it. The symptons you say it has wouldn't need the fee to replace unless their was physical damage. Even the "chrome" coming off wouldn't make me need to charge you to replace it. Something else was going on there I'm guessing.

Second, what did the salesman say that you shouldn't have believed? We can't determine if a phone will be fast enough for you regarding texting simply because we all text at different speeds. Even the fastest phones out there sometimes don't go fast enough for some people.

Lastly, do not get the Dare. Not only is the thing garbage, it has way too many features than you need. If you just upgraded from the chocolate, I'm guessing you had the VX-8500. That being the case you may want to consider the 8550 or decoy if you want to stick with a slider. Also, check to see what software version your Venus is on. In June LG came out with a software patch specific to texting issues. If you're not on version 4 you should definitely get that done and see if that helps

Yeah unless there was a good amount of damage to the phone, it would have to be in warranty, it launched last November!

I'd check with the original source to see why you had the $50 fee jsut to be safe.

I have the original Env which I am very happy with, but I want the FM Transmitter like a fly wants....candy bars.

It's a great phone.
