Based on most of the reviews I've read about the phone, you might want to be prepared for an onslaught of returns. Has VZW corporate said anything about the testing or retesting of this phone?

This is the worst phone I've ever talked on. Yes, it may be water-resistant and feature a handy-dandy compass, but its battery is weak and it fails to perform its No. 1 task -- phone calls -- without having to ask someone over and over to repeat themselves.
Go look at reviews here and on phonescoop or anywhere else. People are angry this product was released. Good riddance to mine. I'm pissed Verizon let this piece of garbage out, because I was excited to get it.

I got a chance to mess with this in a Verizon store. Total crap. the feel of it was horrible, button travel was nice at least where you could feel the click of the button and you actually had to press it in. the port for the SD card i think is overly recessed and me having fat fingers had a problem trying to reach inside. being recessed like this with the waterproof cover is nice however the cover comes off the phone to easily allowing possible water leakage into the device completely destroying the internals. I wouldn't suggest this phone to my worst enemy.

ok please, you work for nextel, the WORST company alive, the boulder is a great phone and is selling as such, people need to wake up and smell the roses, verizon wireless is the ONLY company making money, and NOT in the red, sprint is going to be bankrupt within 2 years, At& T's I phone is a flop, and theyre the company that gives EVERYTHING away free, and T mobile?...i wont even go there, VZW is the leader in wireless, and is the best and most reliable network

Seriously, if you have a walk-in customer come to your store, needing a durable PTT phone, would you push the G'Zone over the Moto V750 Adventure?
Everything else you said, I agree with, VZW has the goods. I just wish they didn't have to lock down everything short of a Smartphone/PDA.

it depends on the customer, but the gzone is a great phone, has the evdo rev a PTT which is instant transfer time, it has a digital compass, gps navigation, camera, flashlight, its a little big but is worth it
the adventure is like the razor on steroids, great phone, alot thinner, the only downside is its a motorola

Ahhhh... So I've got the Boulder all boxed up and ready to ship back, can't wait to get rid of it and I'll never try another one, that's how bad this experience was.
Today I reactivated my old LG VX8300 in the meantime (until I decide what phone I want next), and I've never been more happy to use a cracked, beaten cellphone held together by duct tape. I can actually understand people again! They can understand me! The battery -- OVER TWO YEARS OLD -- is still better than Boulder. The UI is fast, seamless, unlike that glitchy mess (yes, I updated) that pauses in the midst of tasks and takes 3 to 4 seconds to delete text messages (in the end, that's one of Boulder's worst faults that's not often discussed).
On old trusty 8300, when I take or receive a picture, it actually fills the screen.
You can defend Boulder all you want, but unless you need something to text 911 from the bottom of a swimming pool, it's basically a glorified Timex with the battery of one of those singing greeting cards.
