so ya i purchased the chocolate 3 yesterday, and dont get me wrong i love it, but i have 3 questions:
1. is there no place for a charm to go? im thinking the 2 little rubber things on the back come off and there will be a place to put it, but its not looking promising....
2. are there any clear hard plastic clip on covers for it yet? or do you think that they will come out with them in the near future? =\ i had one on my 8600, and have grown to h8 the leather cases, but i dont wanna fingerprint up my choc3 =\
3. any idea where i can find information on when verizon will have the software out to transfer contacts from the 8600 to the choc3? or do i just gotta call the store to find that out? =\
thanks in advance... :)

Just got mine today -
1) To my knowledge there is no place for charms to go, those rubber pads in the back are most likely just covering up screws
2) I haven't seen any cases for it yet (I'm using my old Razr case for it) and have been unable to locate any which is quite disappointing - a clear case isn't all that common on flip phones
3) I read that you could download a program that would back up your contacts online, however it doesn't seem like you can download that program on the new LG Chocolate 3. I manually entered in my contacts as I only had a handful.

1. Thats a no go houston! The pads on the back are for the screws.
2. They should have clips in your local store, or they can order it for you. (Did you check online?)
3. If they updated their "Machines" Like they were supposed to, then yes, you should be able to get your Contacts, pix, flix for 10 smackers!! (Unless you have some sort of discount or are VIP, then you get it free!!!)
How is that FM transmitter treating you?

1. Again with same answer about charms. Not an option for this phone. Sorry
2. Clips, Cases, and other Accessories are available via verizonwireless.com and in any of the Verizon Wireless stores.
3. Your contacts can be uploaded from any "Get It Now" capable phone through a application called Back-Up Assistant. If you download this application it will save all your contacts and can be used interchangeably with different Verizon Wireless "Get It Now" phones. It will show a $1.99 charge for this application but if your a registered account holder on verizonwireless.com then that $1.99 is credited back to you on your bill each month.
4. LOVING the FM Transmitter. By far one of the best things when combined with the new Rhapsody Music Downloads! Nothing else out there that can compete.

If you own a Chocolate 3 you would know that there are no cases that are currently custom for this phone...so please do not suggest them to look somewhere where there is nothing of the such. The closest you can get is existing cases for other slim phone, this is a simple leather case/holster that should fit the Chocolate 3 fine - however there is no case that I have seen that will allow you to use the scroll wheel while in it - http://accessoryaccess.vzw.com/itemview.asp?ItemNumber=PCHLG8500&CatBias=&ModelNumber=675
Also in order to add the contacts from your old phone you must have that phone active at the time of backing up (unless you already downloaded Backup Assistant). Backup Assistant can be found through Browse & Download --> Get New Applications --> Business/Tools on the Chocolate (and through Get it Now on other Verizion phones).
You can't download this application on your old phone if it is not your active phone, so transferring from an unactive phone to an active phone when you don't have the application cannot be done to my knowledge by yourself.

ah well, bummer about the charm thing.
and yea i have tried looking online. i actually called a place that said the clear plastic covers should be out in about 4 weeks, but i've found what i find is usually nothing compared to what all you cell-phone-guru's out there find/know. lol :)
thanks for the info!
ps: havent really used the fm transmitter, the music function is something that i see a bonus. i was just looking for another clamshell that was thin (like the 8600) and this was it! :)

Not exactly, The Sku for the 8560 holster for verizon is LG8560hol.
They should be able to order it for you through customer service, or through the store.
The Accessory should be available now, just call customer service and they should be able to fulfill it straight to your home. I'm almost certain its available in the warehouse.
And again, if they updated their "transfer devices" you can just go into your local store and have your info transferred for 10 bucks, (Unless your a VIP customer or again, have a discounted profile from through your work. Then its a free service.)
This way is important because they will be able to get your pix/flix as well!!

silicone covers should have been available at retail locations since launch, but then you'd have to use a pouch option as it will not fit in the holster.
That might hold you over till the hard shell is release either through VZW or from a third party accessory vendor.
