A lot of people are saying that Verizon Wireless "denied" the iPhone offer. Now, from my research I found out that Verizon Wirless is a CDMA network and AT&T is a GSM network. CDMA and GSM are both two different technologies. In order for the iPhone to be compatible with Verizon Wireless, Apple would have to reconstruct the iPhone because it's not CDMA.
Now, please correct me if I'm wrong, this is just something I came across while I was doing research on the Dare and the iPhone.

Also, I recently bought the Dare which I should be getting Friday or Monday. If I don't like the Dare, then I'll sadly switch services from Verizon to AT&T so I can have the iPhone.
Which phone is better? I'm going to be testing them both tomorrow, but it would be nice to get some customers view on the matter.
Thanks! :D

im actually a verizon rep. and yes cdma and gsm are both two different technologies BUT at the time only the prototype for the iPhone was in the works. when apple approached verizon it was about a year and a half prior to the phone's launch date. and its not that verizon turned it down its just that apple and verizon couldnt come to an agreement. for example we offer insurance on ALL of our phone whether its a low-end samsung u-410 or a higher end phone like the 6900. apple didnt want to honor our insurance policy. basically apple and verizon couldnt see eye to eye. but if the did agree the iPhone would be CMDA instead of GSM

The Lg Dare is probaly your best bet if you haven't chosen already yeah the Iphone has so many diffrent kinds of Apps but the Iphone can't even record. The internet on the dare is about as fast i know this cause i've compared and way to many people have the Iphone. With the dare one of it's cool feautres is the way you can edit pictures and draw on them and so many other optinons if you really want At&t your even better of with the Enternity or however it is you spell it.
