Can someone tell me the difference in the VZW 9c and 9m? According to the VZW website comparison, these look like pretty much the same phone. What would make me pick one over the other? I am mainly interested in the ability to get email/browse and keep my life organized.... I mean, I already have an ipod and don't really want to kill my phone battery playing music... however, that might be kind of cool....

The Q9m is basically meant for music and media and the Q9C is meant for business and keeping things organized.

To be completely honest though, the Q9M is simply terrible. It is by far the one of the most unreliable PDA you can get other than the original Q. I can only assume the Q9c is the same but I have yet to see this.

Try taking a look at the HTC 5800, 6800, Touch, or the new Centro that launched today.

I'll be honest, we've had nothing but problems with the 5800 we've had on display; even been replaced twice since its launch. XV6800 is pretty good, as is the touch. Centro I haven't played much with simply because I don't even like how the thing looks and the screen seems a bit dimmer than the other palms out. Not really surprised of my disappointment seeing as the Centro is about 2/3 the price of its predecessors.

From the little that I have used the Q9C it seems ok, but like GDawgtuk already said, it'll probably be like the Q9M and eventually fail.

The difference between the Motorola Q9C and the Motorola Q9M is that the Q9C is geared more to professionals where the Q9M is geared towards more casual crowd. They got rid of the red accents, and replaced them with silver ones. From a hardware perspective, they are identical. However the Q9C supports VZNavigator (which was the selling point for me) because I love the GPS function.

Anyway... all the criticism aside, I love my verizon Q9C... it's very customizable, and the Verizon EVDO network is simply amazing. It's extremely thin for a PDA phone, and the keyboard is very comfortable. After a few days you'll be firing off text messages like a pro.

My only complaints with the phone are more complaints with Windows Mobile itself, rather than the phone. Windows Mobile is a tad sluggish, compared to Blackberry OS and Palm OS... and it should also be noted that the Q9C doesn't come with java out of the box, so you will need to get a program called "Jbed" to run things like OperaMini or java games.

oh and the Q takes these funky ass miniSD (Not the popular MicroSD cards) and if you live in a small town like me they are just about impossible to find at the stores. I managed to get a 4GB one off of Buy.com for like 5 bucks though. All complaints aside I am very satisfied with this handset and I expect to hold onto it for a long time.

If you buy your card from us (VZW) all cards come with a miniSD adapter that your microSD card slips right into. These are great so that if you get a phone in the future that uses the microSD size, you won't need to buy another new card
