We've heard that quad-core processor support will be coming with the GDR 3 update, but all we have learned so far with GDR 2 is that it will be bringing CalDAV and CardDAV support for Google accounts. If these are to be trusted, the smartphone is of the mid-range class, running Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 operating system. Sprint is the carrier bound to launch this upcoming handset, but it turns out that others are interested in offering the device as well. Ting – a virtual mobile operator that uses the Sprint network – confirmed via its official blog that the HTC Tiara will land on its shelves in July...

Nokia Smart Camera app is released, doesn't yet work on most Lumias

First the good news: the Nokia Smart Camera app, which was demonstrated during the Lumia 925 announcement, is now available at the Windows Phone marketplace. So we wonder if the staff suffered a let down when the Nokia RM-941 walked through its doors...

Don't let the higher model number throw you, this is model is a mid-ranger from the Finnish OEM. Mobile ad network AdDuplex spotted this model (mostly in Taiwan) and noted that it has a screen resolution of 480 x 800 (WVGA). By definition these days, this would make the Nokia RM-941 a mid-range model at best.

Nokia developer pages now reference quad-core Snapdragon 800 with Adreno 330 GPU

Nokia is not working with that many processors from Qualcomm, so when a new one appears on its developer pages, one ought to take notice. The same can be said about Windows Phone developers who have not only come up with a way for users of the platform to enjoy Instagram and now Vine; for those unaware, Vine is a app that takes 6 seconds video and lets you tag them or send them off to specific recipients. Google announced a while back that it was going to end support for ActiveSync for Gmail and Google Calendar, because it would rather support open standards like CalDAV and CardDAV than Microsoft's proprietary option. Microsoft promised that it was adding support for the open standards, and now we're seeing it demoed on video...

More images and videos of the forthcoming Windows 8.1 reveal themselves

In addition to some newly uploaded videos highlighting some of the updated apps, we have some...

Did we see the Nokia Lumia phablet?

Saturday night, we showed you a picture of what looked like mass produced aluminum chassis for the soon to be announced Nokia EOS; but as the sun came up on Sunday morning, a new interpretation of the picture was being made.
