It tips the scales at 3.35 ounces, or a mere 95 grams, and is 0.37-inch (9.4mm) thick. The light weight comes from a comparatively small, 3.7-inch qHD display (boosted with Sony’s BRAVIA engine for vibrant colors), resulting in a relatively compact body. Under the hood, a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM powers Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Design wise, you’re looking at a rectangular, minimalistic slab available in black and white that should be universally appealing. Sony is also bringing an 8-megapixel sensor with its Exmor R technology for better low-light performance, and the camera is capable of taking 3D panoramic photos. A front-facing, 1.3-megapixel camera will make video calls easier. There’s 8 gigs of internal storage. Out of the blue the Sony Xperia GX, previously codenamed LT29i "Hayabusa", just got officially annnounced by the Japanese this pretty London morning. Everything we relayed to you about the newest Sony flagship turned out to be true, right down to the name, but for now it is announced for Japan only. We've no doubt it will be making rounds worldwide come June or July, as that's the timeframe listed in the leaked 2012 Sony roadmap, along with a price in both Euros and US currency...

AT&T getting the Sony Xperia ion in June?

The Sony Xperia Ion, the US version of the Xperia S, is coming to AT&T in June if we are to believe an advertisement that pops up…

At what point do "smartphones" become just "phones"?

Earlier today, we learned that smartphones have finally hit the magical point where more than half of all mobile users had a smartphone (in Q1 2012, according to Nielsen.) The Hayabusa is supposed to sport a dual-core Snapdragon S4 (if Qualcomm can make enough of those), the new 13MP "stacked" Exmor camera, which will be its biggest selling point, 4.55" HD display, and big 2200mAh battery, all in a 7mm thin package...

HTC One X vs Sony Xperia S

The HTC One X arrived after the Sony Xperia S, so it should be better, right?
